HOW TO CARE FOR WOOD FURNITURE

Good quality furniture lasts a lifetime. Classic wood furniture is timeless and may be seen in different styles such as vintage and mid-century contemporary designs. Here are a few helpful tips to help you properly maintain your furniture.

Dust it Regularly

Airborne particles like dust and dirt will leave a thin layer on the wood that overtime might cause damage and scratches on the surface, and you wouldn't like to see a thin film of dust layering up on your furniture. Use a soft cloth to dust your furniture from time to time. Rough materials should not be used to dust surfaces since they might cause scratches.

Keep your wood smelling fresh

It's common for old furniture to have an unpleasant odor. Sprinkle some baking soda on them to make them smell fresh and new. A pan of charcoal can be placed within chambers and drawers and it would absorb unpleasant odors.

Be mindful on temperature and avoid exposure to sunlight

To keep your wood furniture in good condition, avoid utilizing extremely hot or cold objects because they have a tendency to leave an impression on the surface that may affect the original texture. Using coasters or other such items, can help protect your wooden furniture. Remember to also avoid exposing wooden furniture to any direct sunlight for long periods of time as this will cause damage and discoloration.

Use Furniture polish
Furniture polish is primarily used to protect the furniture's surface from frequent damage. And applying it to your furniture will help reduce uneven textures which includes scratches & grooves. It will help make your furniture look good as new.
Spray or pour the solution on a soft cloth and wipe it into the wood in the direction of the grain. If the wood appears to be dry, let the solution sit for a few minutes before going over it again. Always use a cloth instead of pouring or spraying straight on the wood.
